Award recipients of the Slovak Scientist of the year 2013
Awarding ceremony of the Prize took place on the 13th May 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical information.
The prizes for the year 2013 were awarded in five categories:
SR Scientist of the year - doc. RNDr. Stanislav Tokár, CSc., Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, Commenius University Bratislava
The award was given for the remarkable and original contribution in the field of physics of high energies, especially in the field of searching for Higgs boson and evaluation of charge of top – quark.
SR Technologist of the year – Ing. Michal Krajčík, PhD., Faculty of Civil Engineering, Slovak University of Technology
The award was given for remarkable results in the field of Climate of Buildings.
SR Young researcher of the year - RNDr. Michal Pitoňák, PhD., Faculty of Natural Sciences, Commenius University Bratislava
The award was given for an precise quant-chemical calculation of non-convalent complexes with the focus on biologically significant molecules, such as DNA or proteins.
SR Honorary Award for Life Work - prof. MUDr. Jozef Rovenský. DrSc., FRCP, National Institute of Rheumatic Diseases
The award was given for outstanding results in international cooperation in the field of research of rheumatic diseases of the elderly, successful solution of the project Polymyalgia rheumatica and temporal arthritis – the impact of factors participating at the disease process.
For achievements in EU programmes - prof. Ing. Tomáš Sabol, CSc., Faculty of Economisc, Technical University of Košice
The award was given for the results in the field of information technology with the support of ICT and for international acknowledgement in the European research community in the objective field.
