The National Centre for the Popularisation of Science and Technology in Society a department of SCSTI has prepared a series of Scientific shows famous scientist Dr. Michael Geoffrey Stephen Londesborough B.Sc Hons, Ph.D.
he National Centre for the Popularisation of Science and Technology in Society a department of SCSTI has prepared a series of Scientific shows famous scientist Dr. Michael Geoffrey Stephen Londesborough B.Sc Hons, Ph.D.
Michael Londesborough will present in Scientific shows with themes "The Secret of Energy" and “Spies, rocket fuels, drugs and microelectronics: the amazing chemistry of boranes!” the mystery of energy and his research of boranes like Slovak people do not know it. He will drag his audience into the world of science with his experiments and unique atmosphere.
Both scientific shows will be step by step presented in every region of Slovakia. The first series will take place on 28th April 2015 at 9:00 AM and 01:00 PM in the premises of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU), in the Aula prof. Kneppo. Scientific show "The Secret of Energy" is organized especially for secondary school students.
The second show called “Spies, rocket fuels, drugs and microelectronics: the amazing chemistry of boranes!” is mainly organized for university students and specialized public.
In "The Secret of Energy", Michael Londesborough will explain what energy actually is, what its origin is, how to relax and how we can tame it for our own needs. He will also answer the question, whether the production of energy must harm the environment.
In“Spies, rocket fuels, drugs and microelectronics: the amazing chemistry of boranes!”, Michael Londesborough will explain why the boranes – a group of inorganic compounds consisting boron and hydrogen – an amazing chemicals. He will accompany his guests throughout the first century of their research which is full of espionage, mysterious rocket fuels, semiconductors, microelectronics and even throughout the hope for suffering from HIV / AIDS.
